This Polestar Will Enter Production in 2025!

Polestar Design Competition Winner, the formidable TRX will join the Hot Wheels garage at 1:64 scale.

The Sino-Swedish manufacturer Polestar announced the winner of its 2024 design contest. Organized in partnership with the famous die-cast car brand Hot Wheels, this edition invited participants to create designs inspired by Hot Wheels’ iconic 1:64 scale and Polestar’s minimalist stylistic language.

The first prize was awarded to Shashank Shekhar, a professional designer from India, for his bold concept called “Polestar TRX.” This rugged off-road vehicle breaks with Polestar’s usually subtle design, featuring exaggerated proportions and clean lines, but the result is badass enough to make a perfect small miniature. As a reward, this model will be included in the Hot Wheels range and the cast vehicle will be available in summer 2025.

Hot Wheels, a key player in the die-cast toy industry for over 50 years, continues to innovate by exploring the boundaries of creativity. This collaboration with Polestar has merged the playful spirit of the American brand with Polestar’s sleek and futuristic aesthetic, providing a unique platform for designers worldwide.

Since launching its design contests, Polestar has committed to supporting the creative community, whether students or seasoned professionals. At each stage, participants receive advice and personalized guidance. The finalists are coached by Polestar’s design team to hone their concepts before the final selection.

For this fourth edition, over 1,200 participants from diverse backgrounds took up the challenge. The judges aimed for projects combining Hot Wheels’ playful energy with Polestar’s minimalist elegance. And what do you think?
