The Strange Hyundai Staria Available in France from €57,400

The large MPV Hyundai Staria enhances the general offer of the South Korean manufacturer in France.

To reconcile the French with the MPV, in the truest sense of the word. A gigantic vehicle where interior space reigns supreme.

This is the entire promise expressed by this astonishing Hyundai Staria that we’ve seen abroad for months, notably in Belgium. The enormous glass surfaces fulfill the promise of escape to enjoy the landscapes.

Onboard, up to 9 passengers and 831 liters of cargo space mean no need to choose, and even 1303 liters in the 6-seat configuration. Yes, the rows are 3 seats, including in the front! Optionally, a 7-seat configuration is available with two more comfortable, Pullman-style seats in the center.

A look reminiscent of the Hyundai Kona

The front is the most charismatic aspect of this Hyundai Staria with its Robocop-like gaze. The large grille and LED lighting complete the modern touch. At the rear, it’s more classic with very tall vertical light blocks, also LED, which mark the current identity of Hyundai.

In terms of powertrain, there’s only one choice with a 1.6-liter turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine with 160 horsepower assisted by an electric motor that brings the total power to 215 horsepower. CO2 emissions are not yet known, meaning the base price of €57,400 in the Creative trim (and €61,500 in Executive) is likely to increase significantly. And even more so with the weight penalty introduced in 2024.

It should be noted that in Asia, this same Hyundai Staria offers a 3.5-liter V6 engine, non-hybrid, producing 272 horsepower. However, its weight is 2850 kg, which could imply a weight penalty of about €20,000 in France!
