It’s mechanical: the day after the announcement of a future model, the cars currently in dealerships lose value. Even if you’re not good at negotiation, it’s a breeze!

As Renault has announced the presentation of the “new” Captur, which is actually a final facelift, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, the models available in stock see their prices drop by up to 4770 euros. The most popular Equilibre version even drops below the psychological barrier of 20,000 euros.

The new Captur, a mini Scenic?

In a previous article, Mobiwisy introduced what was a leak of the design of this upcoming “new” Captur. Launched in 2019, the Diamond SUV is an enjoyable vehicle, but it no longer coherently fits into the new design language of the brand introduced by designer Gilles Vidal. Thus, for its mid-career update, the Captur will adopt stylistic codes similar to those of the new Renault Scenic electric.

And simply put, this will create a distinction with its cousin Mitsubishi ASX.

Now, it remains to be seen what the popular success of this new Captur will be as Renault has also announced the arrival, in spring 2024, of a new model. Named Symbioz, this hybrid SUV would position itself between the Captur and the Scenic. However, in the end, more than having a choice, customers may face confusion if they don’t know what to choose.
