Toyota unveils its brand new Land Cruiser

After 72 years of presence in the automotive world, and 11 million vehicles sold, the Land Cruiser will continue to make appearances on the roads starting in 2024. 

The question of powertrain 

In the announcement of the upcoming Land Cruiser, it is specified that the vehicle in Western Europe will initially have a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine. It will offer a power of 204 hp/150 kW. Only in 2025 will the 48-volt hybrid technology appear on the vehicle. The hybrid engine will be combined with a powerful diesel engine. 

The vehicle adopts Toyota’s new GA-F platform, which improves the off-road capabilities of the Land Cruiser. Also, for the first time, it features electric power steering, which provides a softer steering experience. 

A traditional design  

The interior design is very simple, with a screen located at the front between the passenger and the driver. On the driver’s side, a digital dashboard is installed in front of him behind the steering wheel, which is very rounded as usual. 

Regarding the exterior, the vehicle appears very boxy, with rounded headlights at the front of the Land Cruiser. An open roof is visible in the photos, allowing even more light to enter the cabin. 

Dimensions 

The vehicle has very large dimensions, which is normal for a car designed to overcome all kinds of roads. It measures 4 meters 92 in length, 1 meter 98 in width, and 1 meter 87 in height. It will also have a wheelbase of 2 meters 85. Two configurations will be available: a 5-seat version and a 7-seat version. 

The Toyota off-road vehicle will be available to order for Europeans starting next October. Deliveries are scheduled for early 2024. Prices have not yet been disclosed by the Japanese manufacturer. Note that customers who pre-order it may be eligible for a limited edition “First Edition.” 3,000 units are available.
