DS 7 VAUBAN

After the DS 7 ÉLYSÉE designed for the French Presidency, DS Automobiles presents the DS 7 VAUBAN, a limited-edition armored plug-in hybrid model.

The DS 7 ÉLYSÉE was showcased during the recent visit of King Charles III of England to France. The excitement generated by this exclusive model paved the way for the development of a small series of armored DS 7s.

Resulting from a new collaboration between the WELP Group and DS Automobiles, the DS 7 VAUBAN is produced by WELP France in Hérimoncourt, after taking over part of a former Stellantis site. It takes its name from the fortifications built at the end of the 17th century. Vauban’s fortifications—twelve in total, located across ten different departments—are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Marquis Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban supervised more than a hundred fortifications—citadels, detached forts, or enclosed defenses—in France and across Europe. In Asia and Africa, several citadels and fortresses follow the system established by Vauban.

Aramid, a class of lightweight materials highly resistant to impacts and heat, along with security glazings, reinforce the vehicle to attain VPAM 4 level protection. The interior transformation is overseen by upholsterers to ensure an exceptional level of refinement.

In addition to the extra equipment available in the DS catalog, sets of options are offered upon request, covering both protection (automatic extinguishers, closed-circuit ventilation, siren or intercom…) and passenger comfort (additional USB ports, reading lights…) or vehicle customization (body color options, interior upholstery, embroidery, flag-holder).

The first units will be available starting April 2024.
