Here is the new Toyota Land Cruiser

This new generation of Land Cruiser must pay tribute to the reputation of its predecessors as the world’s most durable vehicle.

Land Cruiser was born 72 years ago, on August 1st, 1951, under the code name “Toyota BJ”. Very quickly, it demonstrated its power and capabilities by becoming the first vehicle to conquer the slopes of Mount Fuji. Its unmatched robustness has been rewarded with XXL-sized sales, with 11.3 million units sold to date in over 170 countries. The brand new Land Cruiser is the latest iteration of a model that, for over 70 years, has built an unrivaled reputation for durability and ability to face the most challenging conditions worldwide.

This all-new model is based on the new GA-F platform, an interior architecture ideal for transporting passengers and cargo while providing better visibility for the driver. Toyota has focused on simplicity with parts designed to be easy to repair or replace. The return to its roots is also evident in the vehicle’s design, which combines the heritage of the Land Cruiser with modernity.

The classic silhouette of the new model references the lines of the first Land Cruisers, notably the 40 and 70 series, with a strong horizontal axis, a long hood, a vertical windshield, a short front overhang, and distinctive trapezoidal wheel arches. The very boxy interior is placed behind the vehicle’s vertical axis to maximize interior space and comfort. The overall length of the vehicle is 4,925 mm, its width 1,980 mm, and its height 1,935 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

The dashboard and the upper parts of the door panels are completely horizontal to make it easier to determine the vehicle’s orientation in difficult conditions. Positioned higher for better visibility, the digital instrument cluster, which measures 9 or 12.3 inches depending on the version, displays gauges and data with clear graphics that are easy to read in all lighting conditions. The multimedia system is accessible via an 8- or 12.3-inch high-definition touchscreen.

The new Land Cruiser is powered by a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine developing 204 hp (150 kW), chosen to optimize driving comfort and efficiency. It features a new 8-speed automatic transmission. A 48V hybrid powertrain will join the lineup in 2025.
