Qatar, the New Eldorado for Tesla

Tesla officially opened its first showroom in Qatar. A fertile ground to grow the manufacturer’s sales.

Tesla is no stranger to the region since the American automaker launched sales in the emirate last December. Unsurprisingly, sales have met expectations, because what could be more stylish than a Tesla Model 3 in the garage next to a gold-plated Mercedes G-Class or a chromed Lamborghini?

This new luxury showroom was presented by delivery operations supervisor Momo Elmegrahi in a LinkedIn post on Friday, with numerous photos of the beautiful site. Tesla has set up in Doha, in the Doha Festival City shopping mall. As Doha is the city that never sleeps, it is naturally open seven days a week.

Globalization by force

Qatar is well known as one of the world’s largest exporters of oil and natural gas, which adds more flavor to the establishment of this 100% electric automaker. It is likely that Qatar has done everything to attract this symbol of American energy transition. So, greenwashing or sensible cooperation? Probably a bit of both.

Qatari customers will now be able to see the automaker’s vehicles in person, plan test drives, and ultimately acquire a piece of this American dream on wheels. To support their purchase journey, the manufacturer will soon install two large Supercharger stations in the capital during the year.
