Peugeot E-208 GTi: The meeting of a promise kept
One year after the presentation of the E-208 GTi concept, Peugeot returns to the 24 Hours of Le Mans to unveil the production version of its first 100% electric GTi.
The appointment had been set exactly one year ago by Peugeot. On June 13, 2025, on the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the French manufacturer created an event by announcing the return of the legendary GTi label and unveiling an E-208 GTi concept that revived the spirit of the legendary 205 GTi in a fully electric environment.

Twelve months later, the Lion brand returns to the same prestigious setting to transform the promise. On the occasion of the 2026 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Peugeot will officially unveil the production version of the new E-208 GTi, the first 100% electric GTi in its history.
A production version very faithful to the 2025 concept
In response to the enthusiastic reception of the concept last year, Peugeot has chosen to stay true to its initial vision. The production E-208 GTi retains the essential stylistic elements that captivated enthusiasts: a more assertive stance, pronounced sporty attributes, and a visual identity that combines French elegance with dynamism.

To mark this event, three units dressed in blue, white, and red will be displayed at the venue in Le Mans. This is Peugeot’s way of celebrating both its French craftsmanship and the centenary of its first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
A new era for the GTi badge
Heir to a lineage that began more than forty years ago with the iconic 205 GTi, the new E-208 GTi aims to preserve the values that established the reputation of the badge: driving pleasure, efficiency, and everyday versatility.
Designed jointly by the teams at Peugeot Design and Peugeot Sport in France, it opens a new chapter in the GTi history by adapting this philosophy to the demands of electrification. Following the 205 GTi, 206 RC, 208 GTi, and 308 GTi, it is now an electric city car that carries the brand’s sporting legacy.
Performance revealed at Le Mans
Peugeot is still reserving details about the technical characteristics and performance of its new electric sports car. Alain Favey, general director of Peugeot, will unveil all the numbers this Friday, June 12, at Le Mans.
