Tesla Model Y 6 Seater: Its Arrival in France is Imminent!

The appearance of an official gallery on the Tesla Media France site leaves little doubt about the arrival of the Tesla Model Y L Premium with six seats.

Tesla has not yet made any official announcement. However, one clue leaves little room for doubt. The Tesla Media France site, usually reserved for vehicles either being marketed or about to be in France, now features a complete gallery dedicated to the Model Y L Premium. This appearance strongly resembles a launch preparation.

This extended version of the electric SUV is already marketed in China and gradually deployed in other international markets, responding to an increasingly strong demand: that of families wishing to travel with six people in good conditions, without having to switch to an imposing luxury SUV.

The Tesla Model Y becomes a true family SUV

Unlike the seven-seat Model Y offered in some markets, the Model Y L Premium adopts a 2+2+2 configuration. The two individual seats in the second row replace the traditional bench seat, significantly improving passenger comfort. Access to the third row is also made easier, while each of the six occupants benefits from more generous space.

This evolution is made possible by an extended body. The Model Y L gains nearly 18 centimeters in length and about 15 centimeters in wheelbase, providing more legroom and a larger trunk volume when the rear seats are folded down.

Tesla also takes the opportunity to upscale with a more refined presentation, heated and ventilated seats depending on the versions, an improved audio system, and a finish that brings this Model Y closer to the standards of the Model X.

The missing link in the Tesla lineup

The arrival of the Model Y L Premium in France would make perfect sense. Since the decline of the Model X in several European markets, Tesla no longer really offers a large family SUV. This new variant could fill that gap while maintaining more reasonable dimensions, pricing, and operating costs.

Faced with models like the Peugeot E-5008, Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9, and Volvo EX90, Tesla would finally have a real family alternative, capable of appealing to customers seeking space without sacrificing performance and the brand’s charging ecosystem.

An announcement that should not be long

No launch date or pricing has yet been communicated. However, the appearance of an official gallery on the French press portal usually constitutes one of the last steps before marketing.
