In Belgium, the Tesla Model 3 drops to 39,990 euros

The pricing inconsistency of Tesla in Europe continues with the Model 3 now 1500 euros cheaper in Belgium than in France.

There is an ecological bonus in Belgium to help with the electric transition, unlike in France. However, in the case of the Tesla Model 3, the comparison is easier since the Sino-American model, produced in China, lost its French bonus at the end of 2023.

Thus, we see that Tesla stirs up jealousy by opting for different prices between these two neighboring countries. Let’s set aside the issue of VAT that could play a role in the price difference: 20% in France, 21% in Belgium. Therefore, we can say that the tax weighs less here than with our Belgian friends.

Consequently, it is curious to note that the Model 3 Propulsion is currently heavily discounted below 40,000 euros thanks to the famous “price adjustment” commercial formula, which can exceed 4000 euros depending on the units.

Will discounts soon appear in France?

In France, the Model 3 remains strangely priced at 41,490 euros, a price set in early July 2024 when new customs duties were established between Europe and China. However, since then, Tesla has demonstrated that it does not receive any subsidies from the Chinese state, unlike BYD or MG, which means its customs duties have significantly decreased.

Not enough to motivate Tesla France to lower the price of the Model 3? Is it selling so well that there’s no reason to do so? Or has Tesla resigned itself to not achieving high sales levels in order to protect its margins? No judgment, just a simple question.

We might also assume that Tesla is “testing” a market before spreading its idea to others, including France. This is a very credible possibility. Patience, then, before buying or leasing?
