Dacia, in the UK, conducted a rather amusing study. It reveals that 24% of drivers admit to struggling to fit everything into their car’s trunk. 12% of respondents even believe that this phase of loading the car is the most stressful part of the entire vacation! Possibly even more stressful than divorce: 19% claim that family disputes arise from an item forgotten despite the amount packed.

A Sense of Victory

Even more amusing: not resorting to buying a roof box to eliminate the stress of loading the car gives a sense of intelligence and self-satisfaction to 31% of respondents, who then boasted about it to their family and friends.

To help ease the concerns of Britons regarding car loading this summer and maximize their space, Dacia has initiated a collaboration with UK Tetris champion DanV, whose game-inspired tips help to better arrange their belongings in the trunk.

• Stay Organized: Just like in Tetris, recognizing patterns and knowing the shapes you might encounter is crucial – identify and categorize your items by size and type. That way, you’ll know exactly where to place your beach clothes, snacks, and other essentials, ensuring everything fits perfectly.
• Keep Everything Compact: In Tetris, creating spaces can lead to tricky situations, and packing is no exception. Compress flexible items like clothes to minimize the space they occupy. By maximizing every inch of your luggage, you can fit more items into smaller spaces without leaving any gaps.
• Packing Light: The Tetris matrix has limited space, and overloading it can lead to defeat. Similarly, avoid packing unnecessary items like heavy jackets. Focus on essentials and summer necessities like shorts and sandals to keep your luggage light and manageable.
