Hyundai Motor France launches a 100% digital used car purchasing journey. Is it possible to buy a car without seeing it?

With Hyundai Promise, Hyundai is the first automaker to offer a 100% online used vehicle purchasing process. From search to vehicle delivery, including trade-in estimate and financing, you can now manage your car purchase remotely, without ever setting foot in a dealership. No more small coffee offered by the salesperson and flipping through the options catalog — now just a few clicks are enough.

The process in 6 steps is ultimately quite simple.

1. Search (various filtering criteria offered) among over 1,000 vehicles from all brands certified Hyundai Promise. Each vehicle listing displays all the model’s features and a minimum of 10 photos. The address and contact details of the relevant dealer are clearly indicated.
2. Trade-in estimate of your vehicle and an initial financing estimate (loan, lease).
3. Vehicle reservation (99€ deposit via a secure Stripe payment module, refundable after financing is approved) and delivery method choice: home delivery via PopValet or at a dealership.
4. Sign the purchase agreement
5. Payment of registration fees and download of the provisional registration certificate.
6. Payment for the vehicle and any delivery fees, along with selecting a delivery slot.

This 100% digital procedure might seem quite intimidating at first glance because it involves a purchase of several thousand euros. Buying a car is also a passion act where a significant emotional component comes into play. Anyone who has ever sat behind the wheel of their new car for the first time knows this. Feeling the plastics, testing the firmness of the seat, imagining the kids’ bikes in the trunk, and especially projecting several years into this interior that is destined to become a second home. Is the same joy present without that, or is the car destined to become just another consumer good?

Hyundai deserves credit for offering a modern solution in tune with current times, which will undoubtedly find its audience, but some of the charm disappears without stepping through the door of a dealership.
