Brussels Motor Show 2023: The Celebration of Electric and Hybrid Cars
This page is translated from the original post "Salon de Bruxelles 2023 : la fête des voitures électriques et hybrides" in French.

Back after a two-year break, the Brussels Motor Show reemerges, highlighting electric and hybrid cars.
While the Paris Motor Show was disappointing in terms of exhibitors and innovations, the Belgian event makes up for it. Because to see nearly all car brands, you need to go to the Brussels Motor Show 2023. After its cancellation in 2021 and 2022 due to Covid-19, the auto show is returning with numerous world premieres and new brands.
Electric Models on Premieres at the Brussels Show
Exotic because unavailable in France at the moment, the Polestar brand will display its first electric SUV. The Polestar 3 will showcase its lines for the first time in public, close to the Lotus Eletre (same group Geely), along with the Opel Astra Electric and the Seres 5 supporting the Seres 3.
Other electric cars warrant attention, such as the Opel Mokka Electric with its new 115 kW motor and 54 kWh battery. Noteworthy are the participation of the Smart #1, the Audi Q8 e-tron produced nearby in Belgium, and the Subaru Solterra making its European debut.
BYD will also showcase its trio: Tang EV, Han EV and Atto 3, while Tesla’s Model S and Model X Plaid will be parked a few meters away. More marginally, the Ford E-Transit Custom van will display its loading capacity ahead of its release at the end of 2023. In hybrids, the refreshed Honda Jazz will make its European debut, along with the Nissan X-Trail e-Power. And let’s not forget the Mazda MX-30 R-EV which will innovate with its rotary engine range extender.

For the dream, the Rimac Nevera will showcase the potential of the sports electric, while several concept cars will illustrate the future. Three Renaults will be making the trip – the 4ever Trophy, R5 Turbo 3, and Scenic Vision – along with the Citroën Oli, the Mini Aceman, the Audi A6 e-tron, the Skoda Vision 7S, and the Volkswagen ID Xtreme.
The 2023 Car of the Year will be Unveiled There
A significant change for the Brussels Motor Show, the European Car of the Year award will be announced there. This replaces the canceled and relocated Geneva Motor Show to Qatar. The 2023 edition is likely to award an electrified or fully electric model. Among the seven finalists, four are 100% electric, including the Volkswagen ID.Buzz, Jeep Avenger, Nissan Ariya, and Toyota bZ4X. Among the other three, one is available as both electric and hybrid (Kia Niro), another is thermal or plug-in hybrid (Peugeot 408), and the Renault Austral is available as a hybrid.
