Alpine A290 Goodwood

If France had the honor of officially presenting the Alpine A290, its first laps are taking place across the Channel.

Alpine is making a strong presence this weekend in West Sussex, England! The brand with the arrow-shaped A is at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with an array of models showcasing its past, present, and future. Far from the ghosts of “A Christmas Carol,” it is very real cars that proudly represent French know-how.

Following its world premiere last month at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the A290 100% electric has been putting its 220 horsepower to the test on the famous 1.86 km hill climb. Another contemporary Alpine is in the spotlight, the A110 R Le Mans, a limited edition of only one hundred copies. The A110 range will take part in the manufacturer’s parade, including the A110 S, A110 GT, A110 R, and A110 Enstone.

From Track to Road

Motor sports are undoubtedly in the spotlight, alongside Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon’s F1, the RS10 F1 with a biturbo V6 from the 1970s, and the A442B endurance prototype with a V6 engine. The Alpine A524 will be driven by three members of the Alpine Academy: Jack Doohan, the Alpine F1 Team reserve driver and son of motorcycle legend Mick Doohan, F2 driver Kush Maini, and Sophia Flörsch, who is competing in F3 this season.

Alpine’s presence in the constructor’s paddock is marked by displays of the A110 Pikes Peak with 500 horsepower as well as the Alpenglow hydrogen thermal engine concept. But what would Alpine be without the fabulous Berlinette? The A110 Group 4 that competed in the 1975 Tour de Corse will join the A290 on track to draw a line between the past and future of Alpine.
