Alpine launches yet another limited edition of the A110
This page is translated from the original post "Alpine craque et sort encore une série limitée de l’A110" in French.

We were told that the A110 R Ultime would be, as its name suggests, the ultimate evolution of the Alpine A110. Wrong.
To our knowledge, no mass-produced sports car has undergone as many variations as the valiant Alpine A110. It has been served in all forms, paid all possible tributes, and honored the brand’s sporting past while embodying its future. This car deserves to become a case study, both for engineering students with its superb aluminum chassis and for marketing students with its extraordinary sales model.

The A110 should certainly have taken its bow with the Ultime R version so that everyone could retain the image of the most devilish French sports car with a combustion engine in history. But at Alpine, they realized that Jean Rédélé founded the Alpine automobile company in 1955, precisely 70 years ago. What a pity; just one year off and we would have closed seven decades of history with a bang of 345 horsepower from an internal combustion engine, before returning for a few years, but this time in 100% electric mode.
An Alpine that is too special loses a bit of its soul
So Alpine cracked, and however exceptional it may be, the Der des Ders will not be. Here is the A110 R 70, which stands out due to the omnipresence of carbon, from the front hood to the rear spoiler, including the roof and rear window. Its 18-inch carbon wheels feature a white trim. Equipped with a 300-horsepower engine and a sharp chassis, it guarantees top-notch performance. Available in ten body colors and four interior themes, it offers extensive customization with Brembo brake calipers in seven colors and an Akrapovic exhaust.

Limited to 770 units priced at 122,500 euros, this edition will surely find its audience, but it’s quite an expensive tribute to the brand with the arrowed A. So one might splurge thinking it’s the very last one… Well, no! In addition to this anniversary edition, Alpine is adding another special series to its lineup with the A110 GTS, meant to blend sportiness and comfort. In reality, it’s yet another variation of the A110 S, enhanced with a few options and new colors from the Atelier catalog, like Peacock Blue or Acropolis Orange. Apart from an optional aero kit and new wheels, nothing truly revolutionary. Priced starting at 79,500 euros, it remains repetitive.

Ultimately, the last Alpine should simply be the first, namely the base blue A110 offered at 65,000 euros. At least, we know how proud Jean Rédélé would have been, and why look for more when it already offers so much?
