In response to the development of the two-wheeled electric vehicle market, the EasyMonneret driving school has decided to open a center dedicated to this type of vehicle.
The facilities are located in the city of Puteaux, in the Paris region. Created with the approval and support of the municipality, they were inaugurated a few days ago.
The new center offers five training programs on electric two-wheelers:
- Mini-motorbike initiation for ages 7 to 12
- AM license (BSR) from age 14
- 125cc training for holders of a B license for at least two years
- Automatic A1 motorcycle/scooter license from age 16
- Automatic A2 motorcycle license (motorbike/scooter) from age 18
Prices vary depending on the program. For example, the BSR course starts at €249, while the 125cc training begins at €299.
“The creation of this center perfectly responds to the growth of the electric two-wheelers market and to the expectations and needs for prevention and training of a new primarily urban clientele,” comments Philippe Monneret, the director of the driving school. “We are innovating with courses, a program, a track, a structure, and a system fully adapted to two-wheeled motorized users.”
Training on the specifics of electric vehicles
The training emphasizes the inherent dangers of driving an electric two-wheeler. Students will learn, for example, to anticipate the reactions of other road users. Given the silent operation of an electric motorcycle or scooter, this aspect is particularly important. The driving school will also focus on managing torque during startup and will advise on how to best preserve the vehicle’s autonomy.
With nearly 17,000 registrations in 2021, France has become the second-largest market in Europe for electric two-wheelers. With the implementation of paid parking for thermal-powered two-wheelers in Paris, sales are expected to increase significantly. The EasyMonneret driving school also plans to take advantage of this growth by opening 4 dedicated electric centers by 2025.
