This futuristic-looking scooter was developed across the Channel. Classified in the 125 cc equivalent category, the i300 has a 7.2 kW (14 kW peak) motor, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 96 km/h. It accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 2.35 seconds and from 0 to 70 km/h in 4.1 seconds. With such speed, riding sensations should be quite thrilling.
The i300 features two lithium-ion batteries with a total capacity of 1.44 kWh. Situated under the deck, they are removable and come with a stylish leather handle. Each weighs 6 kilograms and recharges in less than an hour with a fast charger.
Not the king of range
While offering good performance, the Zapp i300 does not particularly excel in terms of range. It is estimated at only about sixty kilometers, even in Eco mode, which limits power to 4 kW.
The central-position motor transmits power to the wheel via a toothed belt. The frame combines aluminum and chrome-molybdenum steel. The 14-inch wheels are also made of aluminum. The use of these materials combined with the small batteries helps keep the scooter’s weight down to 92 kilograms.
The rear swingarm is equipped with an adjustable shock absorber. Braking is provided by a pair of discs, 255 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear.
The i300 cannot carry a passenger in addition to the rider and does not have a trunk. In short, it clearly prioritizes style over practicality!
