A110 E-ternity: Alpine enters the all-electric era
This page is translated from the original post "A110 E-ternité : Alpine entre dans l’ère du tout électrique" in French.

On the occasion of the French Grand Prix, Alpine unveils a prototype of an electric A110. The beginning of a new era for the manufacturer, which will soon make a definitive farewell to thermal engines.
Luca de Meo is neither a poet nor a philosopher, but that doesn’t stop him from sometimes delivering lyrical outbursts. ‘I want to electrify Alpine to make it eternal‘, he declared shortly after taking over at the Renault Group. Apparently, that phrase still echoes in the minds of Alpine teams, since the brand’s first electric car has been named A110 “E-ternity”.
A specific look and limited weight gain
Although visually close to the combustion model, the electric A110 has received some specific treatments. Headlight eyelids, side skirts, modified bumpers, and scales on the rear window distinguish it from the rest of the A110 family. Inside, the central screen of the serial model is replaced by a tablet support. The A110 E-ternity also benefits from a new 8-speaker audio system. But the most interesting element remains undeniably the removable roof, made of two shells in recycled carbon fiber. According to Alpine, it does not alter the rigidity and does not excessively add weight to the car.
Weight has generally been a major concern for engineers, who aimed to prove that an Alpine electric could remain lightweight. The use of innovative materials such as linen allowed them to limit the weight increase to +258 kilograms over the thermal A110, bringing the total to 1,378 kilograms. However, the 60 kWh battery alone weighs 382 kilograms! Borrowed from the Mégane E-Tech, it is divided into 12 modules located at the front and rear of the car, ensuring good weight distribution. Fully charged to 100%, the A110 E-ternity offers a theoretical range of 420 km.

An electric Alpine equipped with a gearshift
The electric motor of the A110 E-ternity delivers 178 kW (242 hp) and 300 Nm of torque. It is paired with a dual-clutch transmission developed internally. This 2-speed transmission provides a better compromise between top speed and acceleration. As a result: the A110 E-ternity goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and can reach 250 km/h.
The A110 E-Ternity was created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the berlinetta. Produced in only 2 units (both prototypes), it is not intended for commercial sale. However, the next generation of the A110 will be fully electric, like all future Alpine models.
