Caofen F80: The Chinese Electric Motocross Arrives in France
This page is translated from the original post "Caofen F80 : la motocross électrique chinoise arrive en France" in French.

The Caofen F80 is distributed by Mujoo, a company already proven with Super Soco.
The electric motocross F80 from Chinese manufacturer Caofen is now available in France. Contrary to what its look might suggest, this model is fully homologated for road use. The F80 is classified in the 125 cc equivalent category, accessible with a B license and 7 hours of training.
Off-road tires, high ground clearance, large spoked wheels, inverted fork, and mono-shock at the rear: the F80 primarily aims to attract motocross enthusiasts. However, Caofen assures that it can also be suitable for urban riding.
8 kW and 85 km/h top speed
The Caofen F80 is powered by a motor delivering up to 8 kW and 260 Nm of torque. Positioned centrally, it is connected to the rear wheel by a chain. By avoiding unnecessary weight, the motorcycle manages to keep its weight at 75 kilograms. The maximum speed reaches 85 km/h.
The non-removable 2.16 kWh battery takes about 2 hours to recharge. Once fully charged, it offers, in theory, a range of 100 km… at an average of 30 km/h. This value is almost halved under intensive use (55 km advertised).

The Caofen F80 is sold at €7,590, eco bonus of €540 not included. As a reminder, the battery capacity determines the amount contributed for an electric 125. For each kWh of battery, the customer benefits from €250. The aid is capped at €900 or 27% of the vehicle price.
Although targeting a niche segment, the Caofen F80 has competitors. It will have to compete with Sur-On’s Light Bee, Horwin’s HT5, or Talaria’s Sting. In a different category, the Swedish Cake’s Kalk is also worth mentioning. Sold at a much higher price, this model targets a slightly different clientele.
