BMW increases the prices of the CE 04

The BMW CE 04 is experiencing great commercial success, particularly in France. Although this price increase is unfortunate, it likely won’t significantly change the situation.

BMW has increased the price of the CE 04 by more than €300. The German electric scooter now starts at €12,990, up from €12,650 previously. This is not the first time the German company has raised the prices of this model, which was launched at €12,150.

The €900 bonus helps offset part of the cost, which will probably be increased by optional extras. For example, it costs €225 to get the grey color and the orange accents traditionally associated with this BMW CE 04 scooter (white is the only free color). The fast charger is priced at €1,240, and the City pack €770 (center stand, heated grips, tire pressure sensor, and anti-theft alarm).

The BMW CE 04 is a hit in France

France is where BMW sells the most CE 04s, with 2,249 registrations recorded in 2022. This figure was achieved in just nine months, as the model was launched partway through the year. The German manufacturer did not disclose the sales breakdown. For reference, the range consists of two versions: a 20 hp (nominal) A2 model and a de-restricted version with 15 hp, accessible with a 125 training license. Less powerful and slightly less performant, this version also has a reduced range of 100 km (compared to 130 km for the CE 04 A2).

Currently, the BMW CE 04 has no direct competitors, but this situation is expected to change in the coming months. The Chinese-Austrian Horwin, for example, also aims to launch an electric maxi-scooter, the Senmenti 0. A concept was already presented last year at the EICMA show. Its technical specifications announced a 300 km range and a top speed of 200 km/h.
