Toulouse: Line C Operational by 2028
This page is translated from the original post "Toulouse : la ligne C opérationnelle en 2028" in French.

It’s still a distant horizon, but the future of public transportation in Toulouse Metropolis is expected to see the city in pink with the upcoming Line C, whose construction has already begun.
It’s a statistic that should make environmentalists’ hair stand on end, but the story is expected to end well. With the launch of construction for the new Toulouse metro Line C, which will connect Colomiers to Labege, no fewer than 1,660 trees are expected to be cut down. However, operator Tisséo has promised that its “tree plan” includes replanting around 5,000 new trees along the entire route.
Highly anticipated by Toulouse residents, the future Line C will improve the existing transportation network and serve several communes such as Blagnac, Colomiers, Labege, and Toulouse. With a total of 21 stations and a route approximately 27 km long.
The main goal is of course to facilitate the movement of people, with connections to other train and tram lines:
- Connection with Line A at Marengo-SNCF,
- Connection with Line B at François-Verdier and La Vache,
- Connection with T1 tram line and the future Airport Express Line at Jean Maga (Blagnac).

Air-conditioned trains
The Line C also aims to improve air quality. According to the project initiators, it should reduce car usage. Around 90,000 cars would be moved to garages in favor of the metro, resulting in 250,000 km of polluting trips less and saving 28,700 tons of greenhouse gases!
The trains on Line C will be quite wide (2.70 meters) and will have a length of 36 meters, or even 48 meters if needed. Capable of carrying between 286 and 386 passengers comfortably, especially as air conditioning is planned for summer circulation.
