Like Cityscoot, Cooltra will now charge a higher fee for renting its electric scooters.
Dockless electric scooters are becoming increasingly expensive in Paris. Following Cityscoot, Cooltra has also sent an email to its customers to announce a fare increase. Since February 1st, the Spanish operator charges 39 cents per minute with the basic plan, and 42 cents with the Plus Insurance plan, which offers a reduced deductible in case of damage (€99 instead of €500). In both cases, this represents an increase of 3 cents compared to previous rates.
Despite this increase, Cooltra remains cheaper than Cityscoot (46 cents per minute since February 1st). However, if you are looking for the most affordable rate, you should now turn to Yego. With this operator, electric scooters cost 36 cents per minute. On the other hand, Troopy, the newest entrant to the market since September, charges 38 cents per minute for the 50 cc model, which is offered alongside a 125 cc at 48 cents per minute. Like Yego, Troopy’s rates will need to be monitored in the coming months, as they have not increased recently.
Cheaper Cooltra with prepaid packs
To reduce the cost, regular customers will find it advantageous to opt for prepaid packs offered by each operator. Some have also implemented subscriptions for a set period (one day, one month, etc.). With Cooltra, the per-minute rate can be reduced to as low as 27 cents with the €90 prepaid pack.
