Free2Move announced today that it has increased its revenue by 100% per car per day for its car-sharing service in Paris compared to 2022.

The Free2Move mobility service allows you to rent a private or professional vehicle for a period of one day or one month. An auto-sharing service is also offered, along with vehicle leasing or subscription options through the service.

The recent integration of vehicles from the ShareNow brand into the service is one of the reasons for the doubling of revenue since last year. More than 700 fully electric vehicles are now available in the French capital. The Peugeot e208 and the FIAT 500e are at the top of the list for urban travel.

To recharge these vehicles, Free2Move has integrated the city of Paris’s public electric charging station service Belib’. Using cables provided in rental or shared vehicles, you can easily plug in without any hassle.

Speaking of the car-sharing service, you should know that you can extend your contract up to 28 days to travel safely.

Free2Move, what exactly does it involve?

As previously mentioned, the Free2Move rental/car-sharing/leasing service allows you to travel by car via its website and mobile app.

According to its terms of service, Free2Move clearly states that it is a platform designed for individuals and professionals wishing to rent out their vehicle(s) or rent from others.

Free2Move also offers a comparison service for VTC companies, allowing you to compare different operators to choose the cheapest. However, note that the comparison does not include private companies Hype, Uber, or Bolt.

Additionally, if you commit to a rental period from 3 months to 2 years, you can insure your vehicle through them at a price included in your monthly payments.

Our expert opinion

We decided to take a detailed look at a “Car-On-Demand” rental offer. For this, we selected a new C3.

First of all, be aware that there are fees payable before you can rent a vehicle. €199 membership fee (equivalent to a processing fee) and €499 delivery fee (anywhere in France). At the end of your contract, if you wish to return your vehicle, you will pay the same amount as for delivery.

Next, the price of the vehicle insurance is displayed on the simulation page for renting the C3. At €120.85/month, it allows you to travel legally on French roads.

The monthly prices vary depending on mileage and the length of commitment (if any). The price per km can double, so do your calculations carefully to know the exact prices and your monthly payments.

As shown in the table below, the longer the commitment period, the lower the monthly subscription price. However, the price per kilometer increases significantly. Please note that these prices are as of April 18, 2023, and that the monthly payments do not include insurance.
