SNCF travaux sur le RER

As every summer, SNCF plans to carry out repair and modernization work on the worn-out lines of the Île-de-France network.

SNCF takes advantage of the quiet summer in the French capital to perform repair or modernization work on the Île-de-France network. Every summer, certain sections of RER or Transilien lines are shut down or disrupted to allow agents to repair or renovate the lines.

This summer, 5 RER lines, 7 train lines, 9 metro lines, and 4 tram lines will require these works. Additionally, with a factory train, SNCF and RATP will carry out these works during the summer break. The factory train will be used on the RER B, C, D, and E projects as well as line K.

Details of the RER lines under construction are provided below or available via this link.

RER Lines Under Construction

The five RER lines will be under construction this summer.

RER A will experience service interruptions on certain segments in August. From August 9 to 18 between Nation and Val de Fontenay, as well as between Nation and Fontenay-sous-Bois, RER A will be stopped. You will need to take substitute buses. Moreover, from August 5 to 20, no RER trains will run between Cergy-Le Haut and Conflans-Fin d’Oise.

RER B will be halted from July 22 to August 25 between Bourg-la-Reine and Robinson. In both directions, from May 29 to August 27, it will not stop at Bagneux. Additional work to adapt the existing network for TGV and other interregional trains is also planned. Details below:

RER C will also experience service disruptions. On July 1, 2, 8, and 9, RER C trains will run without stops between Choisy-le-Roi and Juvisy. Moreover, during the summer break, from July 15 to August 26, RER C will not run between Avenue Henri Martin, Javel, and Austerlitz.

Work on the Chartres and Gallardon bridges will also disrupt traffic on RER B and C respectively until 2024. Therefore, between Pont de Rungis and Massy Palaiseau, no trains will run from July 15 to August 26.
