Traffic conditions this weekend: holidaymakers are set to face heavy congestion on the roads

The July holidaymakers will end their vacation to make way for those traveling in August for the big holiday, which is synonymous with the holiday crossover.

A weekend of holiday crossover means a lot of traffic on the roads, and this Friday is no exception. Bison Futé predicts a red/orange day in the departure direction, as does Saturday. In the return direction, conditions will be somewhat more favorable.

A Friday with two faces

For this Friday, conditions will be difficult across most of the country. The western part of the country is classified as red by Bison Futé, and orange for the eastern side of France in the departure direction. For the return trips, traffic will be “difficult” nationwide. The A10 and A7 highways will experience the most difficulties, as will the exit from the Île-de-France region in both directions.

A Saturday in red

Patience will be necessary on the roads for holiday departures across France. Bison Futé indicates red, meaning very heavy traffic. For return trips, traffic will be much less dense than in the outbound direction. Like Friday, major disruptions are expected on the A10, A7, and Île-de-France region, as well as on the N105 heading towards Nantes. The A63 towards Bayonne will be particularly congested.

A calm Sunday

For the last day of the weekend, traffic conditions are expected to be green according to Bison Futé.
