Cadillac LYRIQ

General Motors joins the European electrification movement by relaunching Cadillac, now 100% electric.

The Cadillac LYRIQ is built on General Motors’ new Ultium platform. As Cadillac’s first electric SUV launched in Europe, it promises high performance, a luxurious experience, and the latest technology in a vehicle that looks like no other. Expectations are high for a brand with such a rich history as Cadillac.

Switzerland before France

Swiss residents will be able to order the LYRIQ online starting Friday, October 6, and visit the new Cadillac Experience Centre on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich to see, test, and order it.

The overall design of the vehicle is classic, as expected from a Cadillac SUV, with a massive and imposing front third and a tapering silhouette. The front face, with its headlights integrated into a ‘crystalline’ black grille, retains Cadillac’s latest stylistic markers, but with a more refined look than an Escalade.

The Best of Cadillac

The 102 kWh battery with 12 modules and two motors are estimated by GM to deliver a range of 530 km on a full charge and a power of 528 hp. While the power level is quite impressive, the range remains subject to some optimism, which GM frankly acknowledges. Official WLTP cycle figures are expected soon.

The interior showcases noble and authentic materials, glossy surfaces, and chrome. The ambiance reflects a certain American style and should appeal to those who prefer luxury over Tesla’s austerity. A large curved LED screen welcomes the happy driver. Active noise cancellation technology promises quieter journeys.

The LYRIQ comes standard with Super Cruise, Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driver assistance system, pending European approval.

Swiss customers will be able to reserve their LYRIQ directly on the new European website of the manufacturer. Deliveries are expected in the first half of 2024. Five other markets will follow in the next two years, including Sweden and France as top priorities.
