Gradual Changes for the Toyota Corolla

After undergoing a refresh and new powertrain options in 2022, the Toyota Corolla receives some technological updates.

A true global star with more than 50 million units sold since its launch in 1966, the Toyota Corolla has a slightly more discreet career in Europe. It is therefore to boost, rather than just maintain, a positive momentum that Toyota is updating its flagship model.

On board, Toyota already introduced in 2022 a larger touchscreen (10.5 inches) and made some finishings changes. A digital instrument panel finally appeared, featuring a voice assistant and more advanced driving aids.

Corolla users can now enjoy the convenience of a new smart digital key that allows unlocking and starting the vehicle via an Apple or Android smartphone. This technology makes sharing access easier among family members and, for example, allows granting permission to third parties to use the vehicle. This device is also particularly suitable for multi-driver scenarios, such as car-sharing platforms.

The climate control system of the new Corolla optimizes comfort for everyone onboard thanks to the introduction of nanoe-X air purification technology developed by Panasonic. This system helps maintain a good humidity level inside the cabin, which benefits skin and hair. It’s a little advantage, but far more important in the current health context, as it inhibits the activity of airborne bacteria and viruses.

A new shade, Onyx Gray, finally makes its appearance in the catalog but only on the GR SPORT trim, which also receives a new finish, Liquid Black. It features a dark satin chrome effect on the exterior mirrors, side skirt inserts, and lower front spoiler trim.

Nothing revolutionary, therefore, but small updates that allow the Corolla to stay current, while likely waiting for its self-recharging hybrid Toyota powertrains of the 5^th generation to give way to a 100% electric version.
