CUPRA TAVASCAN

The first all-electric CUPRA SUV coupe is unveiled in Tavascan, a Pyrenean village that inspired its name.

Capable of developing 250 kW (340 hp), the CUPRA Tavascan is the brand’s first 100% electric coupe SUV, aiming to reinvent electrification with this model. In doing so, the brand intends to prove that electric cars can also deliver high-performance sports capabilities.

This model can indeed rely on the latest APP550 electric motor, offering a comfortable power output of 286 hp, whereas the most powerful electric among CUPRA’s lineup previously had only 204 hp. This synchronous-type motor is located on the rear axle of Tavascan, and will later be available in an all-wheel-drive version with an even more powerful electric motor to reach 340 hp!

However, a slight disappointment as the announced battery capacity is only 77 kWh. Nevertheless, the expected efficiency of the new motor should allow the CUPRA to reach a WLTP range of 550 km in rear-wheel drive and about 520 km in all-wheel drive.

Made in China (yes), the CUPRA Tavascan still has fairly reasonable dimensions, measuring 4.64 meters long. Its rather masculine style will appeal to nostalgic fans of the good old Seat Leon CUPRA, with oversized bumpers, 21-inch wheels, and an aggressive lighting signature.

If sales are expected to start at the beginning of 2024 in the French market, prices remain unknown for now.
