100% electrified the new Toyota C-HR is a vehicle designed, developed, and produced in Europe. Guarantee of success?

Toyota Motor Europe has begun production of the new C-HR at its site in Sakarya, Turkey. These manufacturing facilities have benefited from a new investment of 308 million euros to create Europe’s first plant to produce plug-in hybrid vehicles.

This new model, designed and developed in Europe, and targeted at the European market, displays a more assertive personality than its predecessor. The new Toyota C-HR offers a choice among four hybrid powertrains, with two self-charging hybrid versions of 1.8L and 2.0L, a 2.0L self-charging hybrid with intelligent AWD-i all-wheel drive, and a 2.0L plug-in hybrid version.

Toyota has invested 308 million euros in modernizing the production lines at TMMT to continue its electrification strategy. This brings the total investment at the Sakarya site to 2.5 billion euros.

This new investment further diversifies TMMT’s production, which, in addition to the four-door Corolla and the new plug-in hybrid Toyota C-HR, will also assemble rechargeable batteries for the first time in Europe. The new battery assembly line has a capacity of 75,000 units per year.
