The Renault Scenic available from 34,990 euros in France

Renault has opened orders for its Scenic electric in France with a starting price of €39,990 before a €5,000 eco bonus.

As expected, Renault has done it. Symbolically, the Losange company’s model has placed its Scenic below 40,000 euros in France. This means, with the eligible eco bonus, a final price starting at €34,990. An ultra-competitive offer when you know that a Tesla Model Y, although more powerful – but to what end? – starts at €45,990 before the bonus.

The Scenic makes a strong statement with its long-range version (220 hp) and 87 kWh battery (625 km in WLTP mixed cycle) starting at €41,990 (after bonus deduction), which is less expensive than a Tesla Model 3.

For the price of €34,990, you get the 170-horsepower version with 60 kWh battery in Evolution trim. The range is 430 km in WLTP mixed cycle, just slightly less than the Tesla Model Y (455 km).

Among the standard equipment, you already get:

• automatic dual-zone climate control
• full LED headlights
• electric windows
• 9-inch multimedia screen
• adaptive cruise control
• rearview camera
• rear parking sensors
• heat pump

The charging supports 7 kW AC and up to 130 kW DC. This is slower than Tesla and Renault aims to protect the battery’s lifespan. The long-range version’s power rises to 150 kW.

The standard color option is “Flame Red,” while white and black incur an additional €750. The built-in charger in 22 kW is quite expensive: €2000.

If the idea of buying the Renault Scenic bores you, it is still available for lease (long-term leasing over 37 months) starting at €339/month after an initial payment of €4000. The Long Range version starts at €439/month after an initial payment of €4700.

The big question now is whether the Renault Scenic will be named “Car of the Year 2024” by a European jury.
