Discover the program for the Monaco Grand Prix (May 24-26), the eighth race of the 2024 F1 season.

Here we go, the jewel of F1, is happening this weekend! Less than a week after Max Verstappen’s victory at Imola, the 20 drivers and 10 teams on the grid head to Monte Carlo for the Monaco GP, the 8th race of the 2024 Formula 1 season.

The Principality is hosting this year the 81st edition of the Monaco Grand Prix, the 70th counting towards the Formula 1 World Championship. Since 1950, Monaco has only been absent from the calendar four times: from 1951 to 1954 and in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Monaco circuit is renowned worldwide and one of the most challenging on the calendar. It is the slowest and shortest circuit on the schedule (3.337 kilometers), meaning that despite the 78 laps scheduled for Sunday during the Grand Prix, the drivers will cover only 260 kilometers of racing (compared to about 305 km on other circuits), the only exception on the calendar.

Monaco also features 19 of the most famous turns in motorsport: Sainte-Dévote’s first corner, the long left of the Casino, the Grand Hotel chicane, the tunnel section, the swimming pool S-curves, and the Rascasse at the end of the lap. Due to its small (and narrow) layout, Monaco has only one DRS zone, located on the start-finish straight.

The Monaco Grand Prix is THE race that every driver dreams of winning someday. On the current grid, five have achieved this dream: Lewis Hamilton (2008, 2016, and 2019), Max Verstappen (2021 and 2023), Fernando Alonso (2006 and 2007), Daniel Ricciardo (2018), and Sergio Pérez (2022). Ayrton Senna holds the record for wins in the Principality, with six victories. The fastest lap in the race belongs to Lewis Hamilton, who set a 1’12″909 at the Monaco GP 2021.
