Available in June 2024, the Peugeot 3008 hybrid already discounted

Price adjustments wait for no one at Peugeot, where the battle is fierce between online sales and dealerships.

List price of the new Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 136: 38,490 euros. Discounted online price: 37,730 euros. That’s a difference of 760 euros, or 2%, which makes all the difference intellectually.

Carlos Tavares, CEO of the Stellantis group, has always said he no longer wanted to “pay the waitress,” referring to the dealers. Therefore, he insists on distinguishing the “manufacturer” price from the “dealership” price. Among all brands of the Franco-Italian group, competition is tough internally.

Is the Peugeot 3008 too expensive?

Implicitly, should we understand that the price of the Peugeot 3008 needs to be adjusted in the face of fierce competition? Peugeot has chosen a decidedly premium position with high-quality interior materials and excellent finishing. However, this translates to a higher bill. Will customers still be willing, in 2024, to pay for a hybrid SUV as much as a Tesla Model Y, which is much more in tune with the times?

As for a Renault Scénic electric version priced at 35,990 euros, there is no real debate with the Peugeot 3008. The electric version of the Lion, the E-3008, starts at 41,990 euros. Again, a very high price despite its luxurious features.

Here is where the dealers will enter the scene: perhaps they will be willing to offer even greater discounts than those from Peugeot…
