The Volkswagen ID.7 finally gets a little spicy!

Comment

With 340 horsepower, the Volkswagen ID.7 benefits from a GTX version to revive somewhat timid sales.

When a serious and reputable brand like Volkswagen decides to energize its line-up, it deserves a round of applause. The new ID.7 GTX is immediately recognizable thanks to the distinctive GTX body kit at both the front and rear. Additionally, the sedan now features new 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels as well as LED matrix headlights with IQ.LIGHT, incorporating illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear.

The heated seats are dressed up with contrasting red stitching and perforated GTX lettering on the backrests. Another feature specific to the GTX version is the multifunction steering wheel adorned with a central red insert and red stitching.

Volkswagen’s family car dreams of being a dragster

The new ID.7 GTX aims to be the most powerful electric vehicle in the Volkswagen lineup. This large coupe-styled sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds thanks to a power output of 250 kW (340 hp) transmitted to the road via an all-wheel drive system with dual electric motors, one on the front axle and one on the rear axle. This model offers a WLTP range of up to 595 km. The ID.7 GTX’s battery can be charged up to 200 kW at DC fast charging stations. At maximum speed, the 86 kWh battery can be recharged from 10 to 80% in just 26 minutes.

All of this comes at a price, as you might expect. Orders are open today in Germany starting at 63,155 euros. The French market will follow later.
