Suzuki Vitara, it’s off for another ride!

Suzuki offers a small refresh to its star SUV with a revamped and energized design and a new digital interface.

A true pioneer of SUVs since 1988, the new Suzuki Vitara Hybrid features a glossy black grille, more sculpted front fenders, and new streamlined headlights with a high bodyline. While it doesn’t revolutionize its signature style, it’s a nice upgrade that does wonders for it.

Inside, the new multimedia system receives a 9-inch touchscreen that allows for quick access to essential controls and information. It falls short of the 13-inch or larger screens that have become the norm, and its low position doesn’t facilitate use, but it’s a necessary effort to stay current. The system offers USB and Wi-Fi connectivity that allows for the use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Suzuki CONNECT is now integrated into the new Vitara Hybrid, bringing together a set of features and services in a smartphone app. Seven types of services are offered:

  • Vehicle status
  • Location
  • Driving history
  • Trip/zone & predefined period notifications
  • Security
  • Vehicle alerts
  • Periodic maintenance reminders

Both hybrid powertrains remain on the agenda with a 48V mild hybrid already seen on the new Swift and a 140V hybrid that allows the vehicle to operate in 100% electric mode during certain phases. The pricing for this new Vitara will be announced soon.
