RML Porsche P39

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, high-performance automotive engineering specialist RML is launching a project based on Porsche.

Although the company is not particularly linked to Porsche, it shares a powerful DNA with the German brand, that of competition. RML Group was founded in 1984 by Ray Mallock to take on a wide range of single-seater, grand touring, and prototype championships. Under his leadership, the company has specialized, in addition to motorsport, in precision automotive engineering.

To properly celebrate its 40 years, RML has taken on 4 distinct challenges, all crazier than the last. First of all, to develop an entirely new racing car, code-named P40, using aerodynamic technology inspired by Formula 1. Then, to honor the ties that bind it to Aston Martin, RML will create a SuperClassic version of the original 1980s V8 Vantage. The carbon-bodied car will retain all the muscular design elements of the original, but combined with 21st-century mechanics. And speaking of the 21st century, it means electric powertrains, and RML will market a high-performance VarEVolt battery module. After proving itself at the Nürburgring, this battery went on to set the absolute record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Finally, RML Group’s engineering department has initiated a project based on the Porsche 911 influenced by the legendary Porsche GT1 and the new Hypercar regulations for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Known internally at RML as the P39, it will be a kit that can be installed on the entire current 911 lineup to improve both engine performance and aerodynamics. Of course, it is difficult to reinvent the Porsche 911 myth, but Ray Mallock, with his 40 years of experience, is better equipped than anyone to take on the challenge. The first visuals are quite interesting!
