McLaren ventures into scooters!

After a first tribute series to Ayrton Senna, Pure Electric returns with a special McLaren papaya orange series.
If you are not familiar with Pure Electric, the surname of its founder will certainly ring a bell as Adam Norris is none other than the father of the McLaren F1 Team driver, Lando Norris! It is therefore only natural to develop small two-wheelers in the colors of the famous British car manufacturer.

The two models that will be offered starting September 2 are already available for pre-order at FNAC, at Darty or directly on the McLaren online store. While the technical base is identical for both variants, it is possible to choose between a sober matte black and the traditional McLaren color, papaya orange.

The great strength of this scooter is its innovative cockpit that allows for a natural stance, with feet on either side of the frame. With its foldable footpegs, it is also slimmer than other electric scooters with a platform. Thanks to a clever folding system, it offers a significant space-saving and can be easily transported with its contained weight of 16.2 kg. Equipped with tubeless tires, it withstands both the city and Formula 1 paddocks.

It is priced at 1,000 euros… or rather 999.99 euros, but we can’t stand these repeated 9s that make it seem like we’re being taken for fools by some outdated communicators. 1,000 euros is a round sum and it means what it means, that is to say we are dealing with a high-end model. So for this price, we won’t be disappointed by its maneuverability and innovative riding position. We won’t be blown away by the 500 W motor with a peak power of 710 W, which does provide good acceleration. The battery offers a range of 50 kilometers on a single charge. But more importantly, we will be holding the handlebars of a unique device with a modern look and a history richer than any other model. A small foot in the McLaren family is worth a few euros.
