Tesla Model Y

Our grand summer soap opera surrounding the Tesla Model Y at 36,990 euros continues with a new episode.

At Tesla France, they don’t seem to want the summer to end… or they’re having a hard time recovering from a festive weekend. Nevertheless, on the homepage of telsa.fr, the offer on the Model Y at 36,990 euros is still available “Valid on customized Model Y and pre-configured Model Y in stock (except for the Model Y Long Range Propulsion) ordered between July 26 and August 31.”  Yes, don’t look for it, today is indeed Monday, September 3rd…

Of course, the oversight is laughable, but it is just the continuation of an incredible series of mix-ups surrounding this offer. A quick reminder of previous episodes.  On July 15, Tesla exuberantly announced that all Tesla Model Y available in stock would enjoy a discount of 4,000 euros and are accessible starting at 36,990 euros! The only problem is that on the list of the famous vehicles in stock, no new model was listed at that price, except for the one we affectionately named Germaine, a Model Y showing 55 km, so not new. It wasn’t until July 26 that Tesla extended this nice promotion to all customized Model Y, meaning ordered ones. On August 22, we finally found what Tesla had promised us since July 15. A new Tesla Model Y Propulsion, at 36,990 euros and immediately available. For the record, it’s still there…

So why this oversight? Everything suggests that the promotion will be extended and that it is merely a mention to correct. But if that’s not the case, what happens to customers who will place an order today benefiting from an offer that is no longer valid? It would be interesting to hear the perspective of a lawyer.
