The small city car from Toyota, the clever Aygo X, benefits from an attractive leasing offer with maintenance included for only €119/month.

At a time when energy efficiency should be revered, the French government does not sufficiently reward small, efficient cars. Conversely, safety, pollution, and other standards make the economic model of these city cars nearly impossible to sustain for manufacturers. They face two choices: raise prices… or stop selling them.

Nowadays, a city car like the Renault Twingo or Toyota Aygo X costs more than €15,000, whereas a decade ago it was valued at no more than €12,500. This inflation deters customers who, for just a few hundred euros more, can now shift to a more spacious and well-equipped higher segment.

Toyota boosts the Aygo

Will the Toyota Aygo X have a successor? It’s too early to say, but doubts abound, especially with the shift towards electric vehicles. Nevertheless, let’s enjoy the moment and this offer available until November 4, 2024. This is a Leasing with Option to Purchase (LOA) for the Aygo in the entry-level Dynamic trim starting at €119 per month.

To achieve this, Toyota discounts the vehicle by €2,500 to bring the price down to €16,400. The lease extends over 37 months with an initial payment of €3,990 (to encourage customer responsibility), followed by 36 other payments of €119. This totals €8,274, or 50% of the discounted price.

The total mileage is set at 30,000 km and the final purchase option at €11,154, making the total cost if acquired €19,428. This doesn’t make much sense in the end.

However, the main attraction of this offer is the inclusion of maintenance. Typically, this service is reserved for Long-Term Lease (LLD) offers. This maintenance can be estimated at about €300. That’s something we won’t have to finance when month-end finances are already tight.
