Éric de Seynes, former president of Yamaha Motor Europe, offers an unprecedented journey into his passion through 25 of his most beautiful motorcycles.

The major event for automobile passion, Rétromobile, will host this year a large exhibition of motorcycles tracing the life of a pillar of the industry and sport: Éric de Seynes. Known for being the first “non-Japanese” to preside over Yamaha Motor’s European branch and to join the executive board of the parent company in Japan, this motorcycle enthusiast presents himself at Rétromobile through more than twenty-five bikes from his impressive personal collection.

Initiated by his father, who owned a BMW R69S, Éric grew up among two-wheelers, preferring to repair neighborhood mopeds rather than study. At 16, he took a 4,000 km tour across France on a Kawasaki 100 G7T, and at 17, he started a racing career by participating in the Honda 125 challenge, the Tunisia rally (where he finished 3rd among amateurs), and the Paris-Dakar. Professionally, Éric moved closer to Sonauto-Yamaha, where he met Jean-Claude Olivier, whom he replaced in 2010 as president of Yamaha Motor France. Promoted to General Manager of Yamaha Motor Europe in 2014, he became in 2016 the first non-Japanese to join the exclusive circle of Yamaha Motor Corporation’s Executive Officers, and in 2018, he was appointed president of Yamaha Motor Europe. At the end of 2023, he stepped down from operational roles but remained passionate about motorcycles, truly a driving force in his life.

Join us from February 5 at Porte de Versailles to discover this motorcycle exhibition within a 2,000 m² zone dedicated exclusively to two wheels. Located at the heart of the show, in Pavilion 2, you will be able to explore an unprecedented range of motorcycles. Renowned manufacturers will present their models and share their stories, including Godet Vincent, Honda, Indian Motorcycles, Kawasaki, and Royal Enfield.
