The young French brand of electric bikes, Anod, turns a new page in its history with a successful fundraising round.

Anod announced this week a fundraising of 320,000 euros. Based in the Paris region with an assembly workshop located in Fontenay-le-Comte, Vendée, the startup has attracted Kima Ventures, the venture capital fund of Xavier Niel, founder of Free, as well as several business angels.

This funding is part of a strategy aimed at enhancing its research and development (R&D) capabilities and deploying its technology for other modes of urban mobility.

A revolutionary patented technology

Founded in 2022, Anod innovates with a patented technology that integrates an energy recovery motor, a supercapacitor pack, and an ultra-light lithium battery. This system considerably reduces the weight of the battery compared to current standards, while cutting down the charging time to just 1 hour and 30 minutes via a simple USB-C cable.

Despite a challenging environment for the electric bike market, Anod stands out due to its technological innovations. By combining supercapacitors and an electric motor, the company claims a minimum lifespan of 15 years for its batteries, while ensuring optimal performance even in extreme conditions, from -40 to +65 degrees.
