Trek unveils a new electric gravel bike

Trek enriches its gravel lineup with the launch of the Checkpoint+ SL, a high-end electric explorer.

The Trek Checkpoint+ SL is designed to combine performance, comfort, and versatility. Inspired by the original Checkpoint, this bike stands out for its integration of a lightweight and quiet TQ HPR60 motor, providing discreet assistance up to 25 km/h to help climb hills and counter the wind without altering the natural pedaling feel.

The Checkpoint+ SL is equipped with a 360 Wh battery, providing up to 80 km of autonomy in Eco mode. Cyclists can also opt for a battery extender to cover longer distances. According to Trek, this capacity allows for exploring more roads without worrying about range, although it can vary depending on terrain, riding style, and the chosen route.

A Custom Trek

Designed for gravel terrains, the new model offers 50 mm clearance for tires and features a telescopic fork in all sizes except XS. Compatibility with dropper seatposts allows the bike to be adapted to the comfort and performance preferences of cyclists. The IsoSpeed technology, combined with a 500 series OCLV carbon frame and a Gravel Endurance geometry, promises a comfortable riding position over long distances while maintaining the necessary lightness for challenging routes.

The Checkpoint+ SL also proves practical for transporting gear. It is possible to add an Adventure triangle bag, a frame bag, or a rack, making daily commutes and longer adventures easier.

Trek offers different configurations based on the needs of cyclists: the Checkpoint+ SL 7 AXS features a 40 mm RockShox Rudy telescopic fork for increased comfort and better shock absorption, while the SL 5 and 6 AXS models opt for a rigid fork, prioritizing lightness and efficiency on roads and smooth paths.
