RMB01, the mechanical masterpiece by Richard Mille and Brough Superior

The famous watchmaker Richard Mille has partnered with the motorcycle company Brough Superior to develop an exceptional machine: the RMB01.

There are machines that go beyond their simple function to attain the rank of mechanical icons. The RMB01 will undoubtedly be part of this very private club. A product of the sacred union between Richard Mille, the undisputed master of contemporary high watchmaking, and Brough Superior, a legend of British two-wheeled vehicles, this ultra-limited edition track bike (150 units) transcends genres, abolishing the boundaries between art, technique, and pure passion.

A silhouette shaped by history

The RMB01 is born not from a specification sheet, but from a vision. That of a return to the roots, to the very essence of racing. Its inspiration? The Boardtrackers of the 1910s, the first competition motorcycles with radical looks and untamed nobility. It embodies the same aesthetic tension, a brutal minimalism that narrates the sport without betraying it.

Its architecture is a declaration. No fairing. No superfluous elements. An exposed engine, a streamlined tank like a shell, a minimalist seat designed solely for performance and for the rider. The “dropped” riding position evokes combat, almost asceticism: here, the rider merges with the machine.

A watchmaking on two wheels

In this quest for absolute perfection, every part of the RMB01 evokes craftsmanship. Machined from aluminum series 5000 enriched with magnesium, its mechanics seem sculpted from solid chunks like the components of a tourbillon movement. From 160 kg of raw material, only 23 kg of finished parts remain: a lesson in precision, a hymn to lightness.

The three-part wheels recall the gears of a movement. The casings are inspired by the bridges of skeleton watches. The carbon frame, a suspended exoskeleton, serves as the spine—both functional and aesthetic. The whole, stretched like a bow, exudes a controlled tension and tamed performance.

At its heart beats a 997 cm³ twin-cylinder engine, crafted like a piece of fine jewelry, delivering 130 horsepower. But here, there is no sterile brutality. What matters is the flexibility, the readiness, the ability to harness every watt of power in a ballet of precision. Thanks to advanced aerodynamic work and sharp geometry, the RMB01 promises experiences of pure intensity, an experience where control becomes art.

Starting at the end of 2025, the lucky few will be able to choose between three interpretations of this dream:
• Nocturnal Sapphire: a deep night blue like a starry sky, illuminated by bluish details.
• Selene: a mineral matte gray enhanced with orange accents, like a moonrise on the track.
• Pearl of Speed: a pearly white, pure and fast, where every gleam tells of speed.

The RMB01 pushes two exceptional houses to reconsider everything that is done, to reinvent every part, to redefine the word “machine.” It is a celebration of artisanal gesture, French know-how, and mechanical passion at its highest level.
