Ferrari 12Cilindri wins the “Golden Palm” for global design

At the prestigious Car Design Award 2025, the Ferrari 12Cilindri was named the most beautiful car of the year. A tribute to Maranello’s V12 GTs.

The scene was prestigious, the verdict awaited: it was in Milan, at the heart of the ADI Design Museum and during Milan Design Week, that the Ferrari 12Cilindri was crowned the best-designed production car of 2025. An award given as part of the Car Design Award, one of the most coveted prizes in the automotive design universe.

A trophy for stylistic excellence

Created in 1984 by the Italian magazine Auto&Design, the Car Design Award annually recognizes the most striking projects in the industry, across three categories: mass-produced cars, concept cars, and overall design language. The jury, composed of specialized journalists from media around the world, aims to highlight stylistic proposals capable of combining aesthetics, functionality, innovation, and coherence.

In the Production Cars category, the 12Cilindri stood out against tough competition. And for good reason: Ferrari delivered a true lesson in design with this model.

A modern homage to past legends

Under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, Chief Design Officer of Ferrari, the 12Cilindri celebrates the tradition of V12 GTs with front-mounted engines from Maranello while projecting the brand into a bold modernity. The jury of the 2025 Car Design Award highlighted “the perfect balance between historical heritage and contemporary aerodynamic requirements,” describing the model as “an icon off the beaten path.”

Visually, the 12Cilindri stands out with its understated and tense silhouette, devoid of any stylistic overload. A controlled elegance that recalls Ferrari from the 50s and 60s, while integrating cutting-edge technologies dictated by aerodynamics.

A winning tradition for Ferrari

This victory marks the fifth time that a Ferrari has won the Car Design Award in the category of production cars. Previous winners speak for themselves:
