On the occasion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2026, Ferdinand Habsburg is turning his race into a solidarity operation aimed at financing school meals for thousands of children through Mary’s Meals.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is not only the biggest global endurance event. For Ferdinand Habsburg, this race is also an opportunity to support a humanitarian cause. The Austrian driver is relaunching his initiative “Race for Meals”, conducted for the benefit of the Mary’s Meals association.

The principle is simple: supporters are invited to sponsor each lap completed by Habsburg during the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2026, taking place on June 13 and 14. Each donation of 22 euros allows Mary’s Meals to provide daily school meals for a child for an entire year.

Present in several of the world’s poorest countries, the charity currently feeds more than three million children. In Malawi, where Ferdinand Habsburg visited before the start of the 2026 season, over 1.3 million students benefit daily from this food program, which is essential for promoting education and fighting hunger.

This visit profoundly impacted the endurance driver, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category in 2021. “I sat with four-year-old children in a classroom and saw my nephew in their eyes,” he explains. “I couldn’t help but think that only 22 euros were enough to provide one of these children with an entire year of meals at school.”

Launched in 2025, the operation “Race for Meals” allowed for the funding of school meals for 1,760 children for a full year. For this new edition, Ferdinand Habsburg aims to exceed the 385 laps completed last year at Le Mans and support three schools in Malawi.
