Uber Backs Stellantis Electric Vehicles

A new agreement between Free2Move and Uber France allows the Stellantis group to position itself in the VTC market.

With thousands of drivers on the roads, Uber cannot ignore the issue of pollution caused by automobile traffic. If it wants to avoid intense criticism, the American company must promote electric vehicles from now on. It is precisely in this regard that it has just partnered with the Free2Move subsidiary of Stellantis.

Following a new agreement between the two companies, Uber France drivers will be able to benefit “from exclusive offers” on Stellantis electric cars suited to the VTC profession. The specific models included in the program are as follows:

• Peugeot e-2008, e-Traveller and e-Rifter
• Opel Mokka-e, Zafira-e, Combo-e Life and Vivaro-e
• Citroën ë-C4, ë-C4 X, e-SpaceTourer and e-Berlingo

Citroën ë-C4 X, the new favorite among Uber drivers?

The new Citroën ë-C4 X is considered the flagship of this new offering. While its saloon car profile with a trunk relegates it to a secondary role in the consumer market, it is perfectly suited for VTC drivers, who seek vehicles with large trunks. With a 510-liter boot, the Citroën ë-C4 X will meet their expectations in this regard. In terms of range, this vehicle promises 360 km in WLTP mixed cycle. This is lower than the 450 km announced for the Mobilize Limo of the Renault group, a purpose-built electric vehicle for VTC.

“Free2move has developed an offer tailored to the needs of VTC drivers, both in terms of rental options and access to vehicles with long range and suitable design,” declared Laureline Serieys, Uber France’s CEO. “We are delighted with this partnership, which strengthens our ability to reach our goal of 50% electric vehicles by 2025.”
