LeCab: The Success of the Guaranteed Minimum Income of €35 per Hour!

LeCab, the VTC platform, implemented a guaranteed minimum income of €35 net per hour for its drivers in January 2023.

In January 2023, the LeCab platform offered its drivers a guaranteed minimum income of €30 net per hour (€35 in Business class) in addition to its minimum fare of €10 per ride. Six months later, LeCab is drawing its first conclusions on this matter.

According to data collected by the brand since January, all indicators are positive. Since this initiative, LeCab has noted more sign-ups, increased acceptance of trips by drivers, faster approach times, and higher customer satisfaction.

With over 13,000 drivers affiliated with the service, LeCab offers a VTC service “tailored for companies and demanding travelers.” The platform targets entrepreneurs and professionals seeking a chauffeur-driven vehicle and adapts to their needs. LeCab offers advance vehicle bookings via the app or website.

What impact does this guaranteed minimum income have on drivers and the company?

LeCab has smartly capitalized on drivers’ demand by offering them this guaranteed minimum income. Indeed, drivers were already requesting the introduction of such a measure in March 2023 from VTC service providers.

LeCab and Heetch are proactive in attracting drivers by guaranteeing a spot with a fixed minimum income and promising to compensate for the difference in case of low passenger numbers. Since February 2023, LeCab has welcomed 427 new driver-partners.

With this minimum income, drivers are more likely to accept transportation offers because they know that the fare difference per hour will be covered by LeCab. This also impacts the user experience.

The platform reports a time savings of 1.5 minutes approaching the passenger (also included in the minimum income) in the Petite Couronne area. This is likely to improve customer satisfaction, who rated the service 4.7 out of 5 on average.
