Ever greener taxis for G7

Toyota France strengthens its ties with G7 to boost the greening of the European taxi leader’s fleet.

G7, Europe’s leading taxi company, announces today a strategic partnership with Toyota France aimed at increasing the greening of its vehicle fleet, including the integration of 2,500 new 100% electric Toyota vehicles by 2030.

Today, G7 operates the largest hybrid and battery-electric taxi fleet in Europe, with 70% of its taxis under the “G7 Green” label. This fleet is primarily composed of hybrid vehicles from Toyota and Lexus. This new commitment from Toyota to supply 2,500 electric vehicles to the G7 network, along with the launch of Toyota’s 100% electric model, the bZ4X, represents a significant milestone in the company’s energy transition in the taxi sector.

As the first 100% electric model in the G7 fleet, the bZ4X offers WLTP range of up to 513 km for the front-wheel-drive version and up to 461 km for the AWD model, thus perfectly meeting the constraints and expectations of taxi drivers. According to Transport & Environment, a taxi driver typically covers 300 km per day. With an appropriate charging setup, switching to fully electric driving does not appear to be a major issue.

G7 also aims to have the proportion of electric vehicles in its fleet double that of the French car park by 2025.
