Kymco unveils an attractive electric model

Beyond a renewal of its Scooter GT range with the CV-R5, Kymco offers us an exciting vision of its electric future.

Kymco has understood that electric mobility is essential and is finally embarking on this transformation. The specialist in scooters and quad bikes with internal combustion engines does not neglect the vehicles that made its success, but what could be more appealing for a design office than working on a new type of vehicle?

And the result is more than successful with the stunning Kymco RevoNEX concept presented this year. A perfect balance between the elegance of sports motorcycles from the 1970s/1980s and the electric performance that the manufacturer assures us is top-notch. The blood-red transparent fairing bubble contrasts with the raw matte surfaces of the fuel tank top and seat. Ultimately, the first thought that comes to mind when looking at this object is that this electric Kymco doesn’t resemble a typical electric motorcycle at all. And all things considered, that might not be a bad thing. The engine block features stylistic cues from internal combustion engines, with real small turn signals and a faux tank that looks very authentic. There’s even a chain drive, even though the recent trend favors belts. Why bother reinventing the motorcycle when you can simply modernize it elegantly? A lesson to remember.

The project combines a very reasonable avant-garde design with a timeless look, making it appealing to both the younger segment of its customer base and seasoned riders seeking an attractive machine. Naturally, a concept bike isn’t meant to immediately reach dealerships, but Kymco assures us that this will be the case in the very near future.
