Scooter: Sell Your Gasoline Model and Rent Electric Less Expensively!

At Troopy, your old motorcycle or gasoline scooter can allow you to rent an electric one at half the resale price.

Troopy has completely changed its strategy and repositioned itself on the free-floating electric scooter market. Present in Paris, the Île-de-France-based company needs to find its place in a sector already contested by Cooltra, Yego, and Cityscoot.

To distinguish itself from its competitors and appeal to people who are about to give up their personal two-wheelers, Troopy is launching a buyback service for motorcycles and gasoline scooters. Created with Patrick Pons Yamaha, this new offer targets individuals wishing to get rid of their thermal two-wheeler and switch to an electric scooter in a free-floating service.

The buyback request is made directly online, on this website. The owner of the scooter or motorcycle to be taken back must provide some information about their vehicle (model, year of manufacture, mileage, condition). If Patrick Pons’s team approves after analyzing the file, the owner will then need to bring their two-wheeler to the dealership for a full assessment.

Half of the sale price credited in Troopy minutes

The vehicle’s value is determined based on the Argus appraisal. The beneficiary only receives half of the amount in cash. The other half is directly credited to their Troopy account. Therefore, registration on the platform is mandatory before the buyback process concludes.

Troopy has been particularly active since resuming operations. In fact, the operator faces a double challenge: obviously attract Parisians, but also meet the requirements of the Paris city hall, which is in the process of establishing stricter regulations for free-floating scooters. Following the tender they initiated, one of the four current operators in the city will have to pack up. In this context, it’s never unnecessary to show good faith and the ability to offer attractive deals.
