960 ch and FLASH charge: the beast Denza Z9GT

With the Denza Z9GT, the electric mobility landscape is set to cross a historic technical threshold.

Denza, the premium division of the BYD group, has officially announced the European launch of its technological flagship, the Z9GT, for April 8 at the Palais Garnier. This high-performance “Shooting Brake” introduces FLASH Charging technology, an advancement aimed at aligning charging time with that of a conventional fuel fill-up.

The “Ready in 5, Full in 9” Architecture

The system relies on a synergy between the infrastructure and the cell. By utilizing the second generation of Blade battery (LFP) in conjunction with ultra-powerful charging stations delivering up to 1,500 kW, the Z9GT redefines standards for energy velocity. The charging protocol allows for a capacity increase from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, and reaching 97% in nine minutes.

This achievement is complemented by increased thermal resilience. Under the name “Cold Add 3,” the system guarantees a charge from 20% to 97% in 12 minutes, even at extreme temperatures of -30°C, thus addressing one of the main weak points of lithium batteries in cold conditions.

A Top-of-the-Line Technical Specification

Beyond its energy management, the Z9GT is based on the exclusive e3 platform. It features top-of-the-line specifications:

• Range: Up to 800 km (rear-wheel drive version) thanks to a 122 kWh battery pack.
• Performance: A tri-motor configuration developing over 960 hp, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds.
• Comfort: An immersive acoustic system crafted by French expert Devialet, incorporating Dolby Atmos technology.

The arrival of the Z9GT will coincide with the gradual deployment of FLASH Charging stations across the continent. This launch marks a strategic milestone for BYD, transforming the constraint of charging times into a simple technical interlude, and positioning Denza as a serious competitor in the technology luxury segment.
